HAPPY ECO DIWALI, ONLY FOR ONE RUPEE

The festival of lights, Diwali is just round the corner, this is India’s most celebrated and oldest event.  There are many stories about Diwali, but the cause to celebrate is the same.  The making of sweetmeats, shopping hits the list, and of course the art of gifting that is sharing whatever we have with all our family members and close friends.  Most even offer some charity to orphanages, old age homes and institutes for good causes.
This time as the costs of living has hit every family has not affected the spirit of Diwali, because the Angel Rangers, who are into harmonizing their communities where ever they go are now conducting, “The Fine Art Of Chocolatiering.”  We at www.a2opr.com have creatively designed our HAPPY ECO DIWALI FOR ONE RUPEE ONLY, a mind full of wisdom, a soul full of happiness, a body full of health and a pocket full of money.  These are community based programs where viral marketing works the best, each one tell one and so the commercial value of the product is all about getting people together, to learn to love their neighbors as they love themselves.
This is a special workshop aiming to bring people together who have a passion for sweet tooth.  Everybody loves chocolates and the varieties that the art of Chocolatiering teaches the concept, making, storage, designs, and packaging.
Making Chocolate, Cookies, Cuppy Cakes at the Chocolate Factory will cost you one rupee buying them in the market will cost you ten rupees onwards.  In our Chocolate Factory you will find children and parents participating coming from different cultures, states, religions, nations, ages, generation, with one love for chocolates.
Theresa Micheal whose best friends make chocolates for Cadbury’s, CafĂ© Coffee Day, one of them who has set up his own restaurant in Mumbai has also catered to Mr Dhirubhai Ambani, some of my friends main line of business is catering to the Corporate sweet tooth.  Whenever we get together and knowing the social activities I do in the neighbourhood, give me the tips and fine nuances of making Chocolates at home.  Those who travel abroad, and learn something new or buy something new will always share it with me.  This has made me not just a capable chocolatier but I can offer the same affordably to those who cannot make regular purchases at store or dine at fancy restaurants.  For me I had friends who helped me, now it is my turn to help others through  Art of Chocolatiering.  My workshops are not just aimed to get professional skills but to focus more on personality, morality, and understanding that goes a long way and it is the best way to get people together, teaching parents skills to bond with the children, the children making the parents proud with their plating manners and culinary skills.  The target age group was 3 years onwards and free for parents.
Now that the children have learnt, The Fine Art Of Chocolatiering, Vatsal Sharma from Ashiana Public School Age 5 says that making chocolates is better than bursting crackers, Saumil Singh Age 5, would like to make more chocolates at home and would save more money, while Ravi and Shavy age 5 and 4 would love to make the chocolates and cookies at home and share it with their family and friends.  Kids were also addressed how they can make a difference in the world where every child is especially talented to take care of the natural resources we have.  They said they would prefer lighting diyas and not indulge in bursting crackers as it would pollute land, water, and air all at one time, even pet animals, birds and butterflies can die because of the accidents the crackers which burst in the air causes.
Soon after the kids finished their classes it was now to check on the mother’s skills, each of them were given muffin cakes, chocolate cream, toppings and moulds, they were asked to decorate each of them in their own way, children were giving instructions to the parents and as the minute was over, we had one challenging chef on the table.  That was Mrs Sharma and Vatsal Sharma, who could make one chocolate cuppy cake in a minute.  They were naturally declared the winning family of the event.  The Factory bells rings and the shift is over.  As bonus all the working parents and children were allowed to take their Diwali gifts home, obviously they took all the goodies they made, wished every one a HAPPY ECO DIWALI and left for their homes, soon to make the world a better place.

DANDIYA RAAS: The Fight For Victory Still Goes On...

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=251706681542809&set=pu.226998547346956&type=1&theater

Dandiya Raas
The originality of dandiya is still a mystery as most dance forms are bequeathed to a God of locality, regionality, nationality and even perhaps mentality.  This is a sword dance, which is danced to the rhythm of drums, clapping of hands, single stick, or a pair of sticks, there’s not much singing is involved in it.  The dance movements also look like as if the dancer is actually wheeling a sword.  This dance was put people together and motivate them to fight for victory and defeat all evil.
Today’s dandiya is very synchronized and well choreographed, but in the ancient dance form the attack and defense was for real, the main aim of dandiya was to strike the sticks and confuse the opponent with a variety of movements.  Moving around silently, striking, rapidly alternating between slow and fast movements and putting up a stiff technique of defense with the opponent with by continuously changing the style, steps and speed.  Then, the drums were played in accordance to the movement of speed, dance behavior of grace, attitude, arrogance, thanksgiving, sadness, and even stillness.  With the advent of commercialism and recorded music we see the reverse trend, all dancers dance according to the music.
In Dandiya Raas men, women, and even children take active participation.  Dancing in pairs, circles, whether the partner is male, female, young, old or even children, men and women dance  with or without sticks in their hands. The accessories used in the dance form are colorful, generally all colors are seen in the dresses they were, the more color the better the costume.  The dandiya sticks are also beautifully decorated, will bells as an attachment, the jingling of the bells is the significance of ushering victory.
From the fitness angle, this is an aerobic dance form with low to high impact.  In my fitness menu card, the dandiya is a must.  While people have loads of fun, they are also getting healthier.  This aerobic dance form increases stamina, strength, flexibility, agility, and youthfulness.  It also provides great results for joint and back pain relief, if done under professional instructor’s care and control.  In this dance style, the hip movements consisting of arms, hip and leg in forward, backwards, lifts, drops, circles, stretching, bending, lunging, repeating these movements is beneficial to the all the muscles and joints of the body.  The dance movement increases the flow of nature’s lubricant in these joints which is much need for the sedentary lifestyle that we are leading.  It also reduces mental and physical stress.
People of Chandigarh will get to enjoy this event for the next nine days at Gujarati Bhavan, along with special Gujarati food and snacks.  In some societies pendals are put up in the neighborhood for the local residents to come an enjoy moments of unity and harmony.  At Kendriya Vihar, sec 48, the residents will trained and treated to this beautiful event organized by Angel Rangers, a group for the kids, by the kids, and of the kids.  The event begins 6:00 pm onwards, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  There will also be a Dandiya King and Dandiya Queen contest, the best decorated dandiya award and the best social message award.
The article is written by Theresa Micheal, who is an author, fitness instructor, dancer, choreographer, and social entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in bringing people together by bridging the gap of traditional arts and culture.

Introducing GO-SPEL-O-BICS and CHEER-O-BICS for the first time ever!!!!

Fitness and music make a great combination. To add vigour to the fitness regime, Angel Rangers started a dance go-spell-aerobics workshop for kids and adults for the coming summer vacation 2011. PR Consultant and Fitness trainer and choreographer Theresa Micheal from Pune is conducting the classes on dance styles like hip-hop, freestyle, krumping, rock-n-roll, zumba and swing.
The fit kids' batch will begin the onset of the summer vacation,  Monday-Saturday at  sunset timings, Sec 46 Park.  The workshop for kids of all ages others also are welcome.
Theresa Micheal has conducted similar dance aerobics workshop in cities like Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Aurangabad, Chandigarh, and where ever she goes, her work follows.  It took me a year of research to understand the local needs, eating habits and free trial batches for the kids in sector 46 and now even the parents want to join the gang.  The result was amazing to see a family getting fitter by the day.  “This form of aerobics is a great stress buster. And with the choice of Gospel songs, music and teachings which make a class not just physically fit but mentally and spiritually as well.  It is fully loaded with a variety of dance moves from contemporary to hip-hop music it becomes more fun and relaxing,” she said.  This time we are doing Go-spel-o-bics, Chicken dancing and cheer-o-bics, knowing the children loved what the cheer leaders do to make sports entertaining, burns calories but also improves general well-being of an individual.
According to Theresa, with the growing popularity of dance reality shows and cheer leaders in television, not just youngsters and people from all age-groups were getting attracted to getting fit by entertainment method.  We exclusively work for harmonizing the communities through our love, peace and joy message campaign, “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD.”

Summer classes

Angel Rangers  will be conducting special summer classes for kids and teens in the park. Creating Health Campaign, fitness programs, dietary recommendations, fitness in the parks, through Contemporary, Hip-hop, freestyle, rock-n-roll, swing, Bhangra, Zumba, Twist, dance exer-classes will be announced shortly.
“Our aim is to focus on the basic needs of the neighbourbood for physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing of an individual, work on strength, stamina, flexibility and body composition,” she added. Angel Rangers is a group for the kids, of the kids, and by the kids.  The Angel Rangers Group is located at Sec 46 C, Chandigarh.

Easter Splendour Round The Corner

Easter Eggs
Angel Rangers have come up with yet another greater theme of cooking ventures for building a bond with children and their families.  This is the season when all the dried leaves fall down and you can see new leaves springing up.  A symbol of turning our vile self into a new leaf, a new self.  Its time to give yourself another chance to the resolutions made earlier this year and, to appraise them during the Easter Festival.
Why Easter Egg? Illustrations of the past centuries says that Mary went to the Emperor of Rome and greeted him with "Christ has risen," whereupon he pointed to an egg on his table and stated, "Christ has no more risen than that egg is red." After making this statement it is said the egg immediately turned blood red.  Off course today we make our own eggs and eat them too!  This is the only day you get to see Rabbits also made of chocolate jumping round the corner.
For the Little Master Chefs Easter Splendor come with a splash Easter goodies. Among the fun activities for our little chefs we are including Egg Hunting, Egg Decoration, Egg Painting, Easter Egg Making, Chocolate Figuring, Cakes, Cookies, story time, face painting, games, cake, ice cream
Angel Rangers is the place to be if you would like to surprise your kids with something truly special this year, the true meaning of Easter. Children will have a chance to meet and take pictures with the Easter Bunny.  To make the Little Master Chef a class apart the little ones will be allowed to create their own designed cookies.  And the Easter Ball for those with extra talent to show off with their singing, dancing and acting skills as well.

A LOVE RESOLUTION 1-1-11"DO IT NOW"

After a whole year of celebration, fun, games and get togethers.  The Angel Ranger Team decided to give the New Year a New Twist, their message was loud and clear, "Love Thy Neighbour."  They soon called in all the construction workers kids from the neighbourhood and gave them a lunch party.  On asking them they could have done something better to usher in the New Year rather than spend time with the poor kids, but their answer was otherwise, this is the best thing we can do, and the best time to do it now!
The Angel Rangers Kabir, Shania, Khushi, Ginni, Kartikay, Kritika and Jassi contributed towards funding the entire party with their pocket money, they recieved for the New Year.
Please Note: Photos will be uploaded later.
